Tonight on Political Prison Radio our special guest will be Mike Africa Jr who was born a political prison when his mother Debbie Africa gave birth to him on a Pennsylvania prison plantation while his father Michael Davis Africa was also imprisoned as part of the political prisoner collective known today as the Move 9.  Debbie Africa was last denied parole in June 2014. Planning is underway for the upcoming commemoration of the May 13, 1985 bombing of the Move Family by the City of Philadelphia and the U.S. government.


Move 9 members Charles Sims Africa and Delbert Africa have a birthday on 4/2 this week and Delbert Africa has a parole hearing about 2 months away in June 2015. Charles Africa’s next parole hearing is not until November 2016. Charles Sims Africa and Delbert Orr Africa are members of the black liberation and animal rights group MOVE and part of the political prisoners collectively known as the MOVE 9.  Phil Africa recently died in prison under suspicious circumstances and he was proceeded in death by  Merle Africa who died in prison after being denied medical treatment.

 In the news, San Francisco Bay View is reporting that the United Nations has determined that the US government and the state of Louisiana are violating the rights of political prisoner Kenny Zulu Whitmore. Hawaii state judge recognizes the existence of the overthrown Hawaiian Kingdom.

Political Prisoner Radio is live every Sunday and it is a program that seeks to educate the public on the individual cases of political prisoners and prisoners of war being held by the United States government, many for decades under torturous conditions. It features former political prisoners, advocates, family members and organizations that work to free these individuals and meet their needs while still imprisoned. The program also discusses current events in the historical context of political repression and social conditions that existed and still exist within the United States of America today.

Tonight we will profile the cases involving political prisoner Kevin Olliff (Kevin Johnson) and former political prisoner Tyler Lang.  Both seemed to have been prosecuted under the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (Animal Enterprise Act). Tyler Lang has been released but awaits trial along with Kevin on the federal charges. Kevin has a birthday coming up this week, get his contact information and more dates on the upcoming birthdays of political prisoner and P.O.W.S.

Hacktivist and Anti-Racist activists Jeremy and Jason Hammond w/ Grace North

We will be joined by Grace Fire who works with support networks for hacktivist Jeremy and Jason Hammond. Jeremy Hammond is a political activist and computer hacker from Chicago. He was convicted and sentenced in November 2013 to 10 years in US Federal Prison for hacking the private intelligence firm Stratfor and releasing the leaks through the whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks.

Jason Hammond is the twin brother of Jeremy Hammond, on January 22, 2015, accepted a non-cooperating plea deal from prosecutors in Cook County, Illinois and he will serve 41 months in prison for his role in an organized anti-racist disruption of the Ashford House. Ashford house is a dining establishment in the Chicago suburb of Tinley Park and was hosting a meeting of the white supremacist nationalist group Illinois European Heritage Association.

Grace North is the head of the Jeremy Hammond Defense Committee and friend of both Jeremy and Jason Hammond. Grace is a committed anarchist, anti-fascist and prison abolitionist who is currently working with Wikileaks' sister organization, the Courage Foundation, to bring awareness to prison support and prisoners' rights issues, as well as a variety of intersectional revolutionary struggles.

Bail hearing Monday for political prisoner Albert Woodfox (Black Panther Party)

Tonight we will continue to review upcoming events and the latest news on various political prisoners and prisoners of war held by the US Government and various States.

In the news, Monday, Mar 2, 2015 political prisoner Albert Woodfox will attend his bail hearing in connection with his ongoing struggles with the state of Louisiana which continues to imprison and torture Mr. Woodfox despite his convictions being overturned 3 times by the courts. Mr Woodfox has been held in solitary confinement for 43 years.

Rasmea Defense Committee advocating for Palestinian-American activist Rasmea Ode reports that her defense attorneys have filed a “sentencing memorandum” calling for the judge presiding over her sentencing hearing not to imprison the 68 yr-old activist. They are also reporting that the prosecution in statements made to the court is trying to link her to terrorism.

There will be a political demonstration called No Separate Justice (NSJ) taking place on Monday, March 2 from 6-7PM outside the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in lower Manhattan, a federal prison where people accused of terrorism-related offenses have been held in solitary confinement for years, even before they have been tried.

There will be a Political Prisoner Letter-Writing Dinner and Card-signing for Women’s History Month on March 3, 2015, Tuesday in Brooklyn, New York.  The event is being hosted by NYC Anarchist Black Cross.
